Pilau is a beloved dish in the Swahili culture, which spans East Africa, particularly the coastal regions of Kenya, Tanzania, and parts of Uganda. Its origin can be traced back to the influences of Arabian, Indian, and African culinary traditions that have blended over centuries due to trade and cultural interactions along the Swahili coast.

Ugali is a staple food in most countries in Africa and many other parts of East Africa, known for its simplicity and versatility. It's a type of stiff porridge made from maize flour (cornmeal) and water.

Kenyan chapatis, also known simply as chapo, are a staple of Kenyan cuisine and are enjoyed across the country as a versatile accompaniment to various dishes or as a snack on their own. While chapatis have their origins in Indian cuisine, they have been adapted and integrated into Kenyan culinary traditions over time.
This popular snack, with origins in the Middle East, is not your normal meat skewer kebab. The Kenyan kebab is prepared by deep frying a roll of minced meat (beef or goat), a mix of onion and herbs (primarily coriander and garlic), and eggs and breadcrumbs to get a crunchy coat.
